No, it's no April Fools’ Day prank... Graduate Student Appreciation Week (GSAW) 2024 starts Monday, April 1, 2024 at the University of Florida!

This weeklong celebration of UF graduate students — running from Monday, April 1 through Friday, April 5 — is themed Oh, The Places Grad Gators Will Go as a tip of the hat to the many and manifold opportunities open to Grad Gators both now and in the future, on campus and elsewhere — the sky’s the limit!

The week will treat UF’s graduate students to free food, socials, sports outings, massages, group exercise opportunities, crafting sessions, game nights, wellness resources, giveaways, and much more as a token of thanks for all they do on campus as students, researchers, mentors, and graduate assistants on the job in classrooms, labs, offices, and out in the field.

The week will also feature large-scale special events like Graduate Student Research Day (GSRD), the Graduate School Awards and Recognition Ceremony, and the closing Neon Glow Graduate Student Prom.

Graduate Student Appreciation Week began in 1993 as an initiative of the National Association of Graduate-Prefessional Students. In 2009 then Governor of Florida Charlie Crist designated the first week of April as GSAW in the state by gubernatorial proclamation. Since 2016, it has been a regular fixture on the calendar at the University of Florida, with its Graduate School and campus partners hosting celebrations to mark the occasion.
