Graduation
Graduation involves two different events: Commencement and Degree Certification.
Commencement is the ceremony for conferring graduate degrees. Commencement Ceremonies occur at the end of Fall, Spring, and Summer B/C terms.
Degree Certification is the awarding of the degree based on the satisfaction of requirements to complete the degree. Degrees are certified three times per year in December, May, and August during the week following the commencement ceremony.
You must always apply for graduation by the published deadline, in order to have your degree certified and awarded, whether you choose to attend the commencement ceremony or not.
