Graduate School Attends the 2016 Institute on Teaching and Mentoring
Release Date: November 08 2016Representatives from the Graduate School attended the 2016 Institute on Teaching and Mentoring in Tampa at the end of October. Dr. Tyisha Hathorn, Director of the Office of Graduate Minority Programs, and Dr. Emilia Hodge, Director of the Office of Graduate International Outreach, attended the event alongside about 30 graduate students, including representatives from the Computer & Information Science & Engineering Department and the McNair Scholars Program.
According to the Institute's website, it's purpose is to "provide scholars with the skills necessary to succeed in graduate study and to prepare them for success as faculty members at colleges and universitites." It provides this service through networking, workshops, mentoring, and allowing the scholars to access a larger community of schlars and faculty in various acadmeic fields.
