UF Graduate School Hosts 2016 Florida Statewide Graduate Student Research Symposium

Release Date: April 26 2016

More than 60 students representing eight Florida graduate schools gathered in Touchdown Terrace on the afternoon of April 22 with posters printed and presentations prepared for the 2016 Statewide Graduate Student Research Symposium.

The symposium, though also a competition, is designed to celebrate and recognize the outstanding scholarly accomplishments of Florida graduate students while fostering comradery among the different institutions represented. Judges for the competition included not just UF faculty and staff, but also deans and staff from several other universities who had spent the preceding morning as guests of UF's Conference of Florida Graduate Schools collaboration and networking event.

The University of Florida was well-represented with 15 students showcasing their research across the range of symposium categories, and several placed in the top of their group.
