Release Date: October 04 2022

The University of Florida ranked Number 5 out of 288 colleges and universities in the southeastern United States, according to the Washington Monthly 2022 College Guide’s Best Bang for the Buck Rankings, among “schools where students of modest means get the most for their money.”

The “Best Bang for the Buck Rankings” rates American higher education institutions for how well it helps non-wealthy students attain marketable degrees at affordable costs, thus boosting their economic potential, job-hunting viability, and social mobility.

In its yearly rankings, Washington Monthly seeks to rate college and universities based on what they do for the United States and how they contribute to the public good in three broad categories: social mobility, research, and providing opportunities for public service.
