A partnership between the UF Center for Teaching Excellence and the UF Graduate School, New TA Orientation is mandatory for graduate students who will be first-time teaching assistants (TAs) in the fall, spring, or summer semesters. It takes place in two parts:

Part 1: Live/Zoom Session

A welcome and overview of the TA role, a keynote speaker, an expert panel discussion, and information from Graduate Assistants United (GAU). Part 1 is held both live and via Zoom.

Part 2: Canvas E-Learning Course

A Canvas e-learning course through which new TAs learn UF regulations and policies on student records, classroom management, disability and academic accommodations, best practices, and new TA resources.
